Nanoleaf Grow

Smart, Modular, Sustainable wall-garden

For my Master Thesis in Industrail Design Engineering, I spent the spring of 2018 in Shenzhen, PR China, as an industrial design intern at Nanoleaf Limited.

The project focused on a sustainable home gardening product to fit into the Nanoleaf brand of modularity. Togteher with my project partner and the team of electrical and mechanial engineers at Nanoleaf, we took the product from idea, to CAD-model to first generation prototype.

The project involved in-depth research on the technical needs of a home gardening system, focusing on tech-savvy first-time gardeners. We considered the existing brand and adapted the design to fit Nanoleaf's product lineup.

Biggest wins: Visiting the production line, testing and producing the final prototypes, and working in my first agile team.

The final design remains confidential.
