Interfacedesign for semi-autonomous vehicles
The project scope was to find and define design guidelines for a semi-automated car interface with basis in cognitive ergonomic research.

The user story:
How would a driver of a semi-automated car want their IMA-system (intersection movement assist) to communicate uncertainty?

Results: A series of requirements with design guidelines
For example, the following is one of several requirements for creating ease of understanding

Req 7: Provide information about the car's position in relation to traffic

Design Guideline 7: Present information in a realistic enough way to ease interpretation, without visual overload

The image to the left is an example of the level of detail best suited to convey spacial distance when the user is distracted: It is simple enough to be considered an Icon, but shown in a naturalistic perspective.
